ARBEL HENDERSON & ASSOCIATES, INC.

Residential and Commercial Architectural Firm

Concrete Architecture

ABOUT

ARBEL-HENDERSON & ASSOCIATES, Inc. is a full-service architectural firm based in Los Angeles since 1987. Architectural services provided include research, planning, building & interior design, and
project management. We have extensive experience in Commercial, Medical, Residential, and Industrial architecture.
Our mission is to design and build structures that are safe, efficient, and rich in aesthetic value while exceeding our client’s needs. We understand the building process and that good design should not only respond to program and budget issues, but also meet the test of constructability.

We are a Certified Small Business (SBC) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE).
ARBEL-HENDERSON has full in-house CADD capabilities for design and construction documentation,
as well as computer aided estimating and scheduling. This greatly enhances the firm’s ability to
provide timely and efficient design services, along with flexibility to better serve the demands of the
client.

AARON HENDERSON, AIA is a Licensed Architect with the State of California, and Registered with
the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). His background includes a wide
variety of building types during his 25+ years in the profession. He has over 12 years of experience in
the development of institutional buildings and remodels for Kaiser Permanente of Southern California.
These projects included everything from new medical office buildings to hospital central plant
replacements.

URI ARBEL is a graduate of the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCIARC). He has a
degree in Practical Structural Engineering from Israel and has worked for civil and structural
engineering firms there for 7 years. He’s been in private practice since 1987 specializing in high-end
residential, multi-family residential, and commercial projects. As a licensed contractor, Uri has
considerable experience in all phases of project development from design to construction.

ARBEL-HENDERSON has established a good reputation in the Southern California area over the
years. Our company’s goal is to address our clients’ architectural needs, in consideration of budgets
and time constraints. We are most effective when confronted with difficult design tasks that demand
more than a formula solution. Our team’s experience and hundreds of successful projects serve as our
guide.

PROJECT APPROACH
Arbel-Henderson’s approach to design is to provide a solution that responds to clients’ program
requirements while capitalizing on the inherent opportunities presented by each project. This solution
should enhance the site while considering the clients long-term goals. We strive to deal with cost
constraints in a creative manner, utilize maintenance conscious materials, and ensure the
constructability of the design solution.

Our process involves the identification and resolution of critical issues posed by each project during the initial stages. Most construction issues and concerns are addressed early in the planning phases as opposed to reacting after construction documents are completed. Budget and schedule are established at conception and revisited frequently through the process to ensure client satisfaction. Key to successful design solutions is our ability to interact with various clients and their project teams, user groups, and facility administration. With extensive experience with large institutions, Arbel- Henderson has developed the skills to partner with clients and their representatives to arrive at a win-
win solution for all involved.

SCHEDULE AND BUDGET CONTROL
At the beginning of the project, a detailed work schedule for the project is developed and reviewed at
team meetings. This work schedule includes significant design tasks, identified milestones, and the
project’s critical path. Progress reports will be required from consultants throughout the project so
schedule issues can be addressed and corrected before they adversely impact the project schedule.
A similar process is used to control project costs during the planning and design phases. Value
engineering and cost modeling are used to identify unnecessary costs and allow for each element or
building system to be analyzed, systematically and progressively. Constant monitoring of the
developing design and past experience on projects of similar scope help to ensure compliance with the
budget.
